Cinnamon has been known for a long time, about 2000 years BC, The Chinese were one of the first to discover and use, then spread to the whole world, Cinnamon traveled to other countries through the Silk Road.

According to many records from the 6th century, Quang Ngai cinnamon was exported to many countries in the Middle East, especially Arab.

Through many periods of history, Quang Ngai cinnamon tree is always preserved and developed by the people here. Nowaday, cinnamon is not only used to make incense, recipes in food, used in medicine but also by artisans of Quang Ngai province to create handicraft products that are very convenient for life and also high-class works of art.

Since many years ago, the workers in here have studied and made handicraft products from cinnamon bark, They make many diverse and unique products such as toothpick boxes, tea boxes, or clocks, picture frames, night lights, interior decorations… elevating the traditional valueof cinnamon trees and improving  economic life for the people in here.

In 2012, Quang Ngai cinnamon was recognized as one of the four specialties of Quang Ngai province, set a Vietnamese record and appeared in the top 10 famous natural specialties of Vietnam. In 2013, the Asian Records organization continued to recognize the specialty of Quang Ngai cinnamon as setting an Asian record. In 2014, Quang Ngai cinnamon was honored with “The title of culinary art and culture and the quintessence of three regions’ specialties”.

To this day, with its unique, rustic beauty and natural fragrance, environmentally friendly, safe for consumers’ health, … Cinnamon handicrafts are being favored by many domestic and worldwide customers. That is also the motivation for the artisans of Quang Ngai cinnamon handicrafts to maintain and develop more unique, strange and more aesthetic designs.
